As part of his official visit to Estonia, Prof. João Gomes Cravinho, Minister of National Defence of Portugal, visited the NATO CCDCOE.
The Centre welcomed the minister and briefed the delegation about the Centre´s activities. During the meeting, further options of long-term cooperation in cyber security and a wider view of the future of cyber domain within the military were discussed. “We need to be able to evolve past the artificial division of cyber defence and cyber security”, the minister said.
During his visit Prof. João Gomes Cravinho also met with the President of Estonia H.E. Kersti Kaljulaid, Minister of Defence Jüri Luik, and presented a keynote speech at the Annual Baltic Conference on Defence (ABCD).
João Gomes Cravinho holds a doctorate in Politics by the University of Oxford (1996) and a Master’s degree in Politics of the World Economy by the London School of Economics (1987) and has been the Minister of National Defence since October 2018. Portugal joined the CCDCOE in 2018.
