Today Lieutenant Colonel Franz Lantenhammer gave over the position of Chief of Staff of the NATO Cooperative Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence (CCDCOE) to Lieutenant Colonel Bernard Hoffmann.
Colonel Jaak Tarien, the Director of NATO CCDCOE, said that LTC Lantenhammer has lead the center with excellence and wholehearted commitment for the last five years.
“Through the long-term strategic direction of NATO’s CCDCOE work, Colonel Lantenhammer has made a significant contribution to the development of cyber defense,” noted Col Tarien.
Col Tarien added, that under his professional leadership, the development of the NATO CCDCOE has been stable and has taken into account the best interests and needs of the Centre’s staff.
“I welcome the new Chief of Staff LTC Bernard Hoffmann and wish him resilient spirit and good luck!” said Col Tarien.
LTC Franz Lantenhammer said that filling the position of Chief of Staff in the Centre has given him an invaluable experience. “The people in the Centre are hardworking and that for an indisputably important collective cause – to add value to the community in the field of cyber,” he said.
“It has been a great honor and pleasure to be a part of it and lead it,” noted LTC Lantenhammer.
LTC Bernard Hoffmann said that taking over the position is a great responsibility. “Lieutenant Colonel Lantenhammer has certainly left very big shoes to fill. It is an honor to take over the job and I promise to commit to it completely,” added Hoffmann.
LTC Bernard Hoffmann has more than 15 years of experiences in working at NATO or multinational HQ all over Europe, like Poland and Denmark. He is an educated Information Security officer and has served not only at peace headquarters, but also at missions like NATO International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) in Afghanistan and NATO Mission in Kosovo (KFOR).
For him it is the third assignment as Chief of Staff, his last assignment was branch head at German Center of Cyber Security of Bundeswehr.
